William P. Bohnet

November 26, 1940 - January 24, 2022

William Paul Bohnet, “Bill”, a longtime resident of Washington Twp., NJ, formerly of Blackwood, NJ, passed away at home on January 24, 2022, at the age of 81 years. Dearly beloved husband of 50 years to Constance “Connie” Bohnet (nee. Kania). Dear father of William Bohnet (Loretta), Eric Bohnet (Donna), Jamie Bohnet, and the late Paul Bohnet. Proud grandfather of Christopher, Nicholas, Wyatt, and Paul. Bill was born on November 26, 1940, in Camden, NJ, dear son of the late William Bohnet, and the late Catharine Baumler Bohnet. After dabbling in photography, Bill went on to earn his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and had a long successful career with Xerox. After retirement, he founded his own copier sales and repair company, American Office Products. After many years, he decided to sell his business and begin his latest hobby collecting and refurbishing many classic cars. They were his pride and joy. Connie was always so proud of every project he took on. Bill was the true definition of “Mr. Fix It”, all self-taught, in fact. He read many books gaining the knowledge and ability to build, repair, design, and fix anything. This allowed him to design a beautiful home in 1971 and over the next 6 years of weekends, he, and Connie, with help from his 2 young sons, went on to build the home of their dreams from the foundation up. Connie intends to remain in the home with help from her children, for years to come. Bill was also an active member of the Blackwood Methodist Church, often lending much of his free time helping out with projects, some involving his extensive knowledge of audio/video equipment. He also helped some of the more senior parishioners with their own projects at home. Besides being a generous loving husband and father, he was also a proud Pop Pop to his 4 grandchildren. There was nothing that made him happier than spending time with them. It wasn’t hard to see how happy they made him in return. He was a superhero to his grandchildren, a teacher and advisor on just about any subject for his children and the loving caring husband that any wife could ask for. He will always be loved and dearly missed, not just by his family, but also by everyone else whose lives he had touched. Viewing will be Saturday, February 5th, 2022, from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM at Earle Funeral Home, 122 W. Church St., Blackwood, NJ 08012. Funeral services will begin at 12:30 PM also at the funeral home.
