Margaret “Marge” L. Smith (nee Robinson) of Pittsgrove, NJ, formerly of Somerdale, NJ, passed away March 6, 2022, at the age of 83 years. Treasured wife of the late David A. Smith who predeceased her in 2009 after 50 years of marriage. Devoted mother of David Smith (Donna Nestor), Christopher Smith (Kelly), Sheryl Matulewicz (Michael), William Smith (Renee), and Kelly Smith (Joel Massi). Beloved grandmother of Caitlan Smith, Dalton Smith (Morgan), Bridgette Smith, Elyssa Smith, Nicole Smith, Anna Smith, Lucas Matulewicz, Sarah Johnson (William), Brittney Farrell, and Brielle Lewis; great-grandmother of Mackenzie, Macie, Maddyson, Noah, Aubrey, Violette, and Paisley. Dear sister of Mary Lou Barrett (the late William). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families. Marge was deeply loved by her dogs, Baby and Ella, who will both surely miss her. Marge worked for many years as a bookkeeper for her husband’s business, David A. Smith Plumbing and Heating. She was a devoted mother and held her role as a mother most precious. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her family and those she loved. Marge had a wonderful personality and was someone that to know her was to love her. She was a devout Catholic. Her religious life was important to her, and she involved herself in many roles throughout the years as a way to further celebrate her faith. She served as a eucharistic minister, was a CCD teacher at Our Lady of Grace, volunteered her time at Mater Dei Nursing Home, and made pilgrimages to the Holy Land. Marge enjoyed the lifestyle of the 1950’s, especially the music and the dancing. She enjoyed skiing and spent some good time on the slopes throughout her life. Marge will be greatly missed by all of those who were blessed to have her in their lives. Viewing will be Monday, March 14, 2022, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope Parish / St. Jude’s Church, 402 S. Black Horse Pike, Blackwood, NJ 08012, where her Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment with her late husband will immediately follow at New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.
