Joseph A. Snavely Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joseph A. Snavely of Clementon, NJ (Gloucester Twp.) passed away on March 22, 2021 at the age of 78 years. Dearly beloved husband of Mary Jo Snavely (nee Dowd) for 50 years. Loving father of Joanne Snavely and Teresa Paul (Anthony), and proud grandfather of Courtney and Ashley. He was predeceased by his sister Eleanor Hamilton. Joe was born in New York City on November 27, 1942, son of the late Austin and Regina Snavely (nee Burns). At a young age he served with the United States Air Force, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Kings College, Wilkes-Barre, PA. In 1978 Joe and his wife moved to Gloucester Township to raise their family. Joe enjoyed his career on the open road as a delivery driver, first working for Hartz Mountain Products for many years, and later for Maier’s Bakery of East Orange, NJ. An avid history buff, Joe could win any trivia game, however his real passion was the automobile. He was a true antique car enthusiast, and enjoyed sharing his knowledge, driving a collectible car in a parade, and attending many car shows, some of which he displayed one of his own cars. Viewing will be Thursday, March 25th, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Earle Funeral Home, 122 W. Church St., Blackwood, NJ 08012, where a prayer service will begin at 11:00 AM.
