Joseph J. Fleming
September 8, 1947 - October 26, 2019
Joseph J. Fleming, a longtime resident of Deptford, NJ, passed away on October 26, 2019 at the age of 72 years. Dear son of the late Joseph W. Fleming and the late Rose Fleming (nee Shugallo). Beloved husband of Marie Fleming (nee Davenport). Loving brother of Thomas Fleming (Susan) of Sicklerville, NJ and brother-in-law of Michelle Davenport and William J. Davenport, III (Mary). Proud uncle of Maryann Busa (Greg), Sharon Fleming, Thomas Fleming, Jr., Michael Davenport (Danielle), and Matthew Davenport (Jaime). He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. Joe had a deep love for his Country and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a longtime employee of Winner Ford in Cherry Hill, NJ, where he worked as an auto mechanic. Later he worked for Ransome Lift Co. in Pennsauken, NJ, and eventually started his own forklift repair business, which he operated for over 20 years. Joseph was a kind and generous person; however, most people had no idea as he liked to keep a low profile. He was a big lover of animals, and a major car enthusiast. He collected die cast cars, enjoyed racing radio-controlled monster trucks with his friends, and had an extensive coin collection. A service, with military honors, will be held Monday, November 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery (Information center building), 240 N. Tuckahoe Road, Williamstown, NJ 08094. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph’s memory to the Animal Welfare Association, 509 Centennial Blvd., Voorhees, NJ 08043.
