James C. Gattinella, Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James C. Gattinella, Sr., of Voorhees, NJ, formerly of Blackwood, NJ, passed away on May 6, 2018 at the age of 92. Devoted husband of Deva Gattinella (nee Saracini). Loving father of Connie Wyld (Frank), Barbara Berdini Thompson, James Gattinella (Barbara), and Thomas Gattinella. Dear grandfather of Christine Botterbrodt (Dave), the late Frank Wyld, Jr., Barbara Lauth (Michael), Daria Herzer (Matthew), Vanessa Gattinella, Vincent Gattinella, Tiffani Gattinella, Gina Gattinella, and Thomas Gattinella, Jr. Proud great-grandfather of Jamie, Amanda, Robert, Cody, William, Jackson, and Caroline. He was predeceased by his brother, and four sisters. Mr. Gattinella was a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran, and a survivor of the Battle of Normandy. He was a retiree of Iron Workers Local 399 of Westville, with over 40 years of service. Living in Blackwood for many years, he was an active member of the community, at one time serving as President of the Blackwood Kiwanis Little League, and President of the Sixty-Plus Club; as well as a member of Stetser-LaMartine American Legion Post # 281. Viewing will be Saturday, May 12th, 8:45 AM – 10:45 AM at Earle Funeral Home, 122 W. Church St., Blackwood, NJ. His Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Hope Parish/St. Agnes Church, 701 Little Gloucester Rd., Blackwood. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing, NJ.
