George T. Humes Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

George T. Humes, of Brooksville, FL, formerly a longtime resident of Hilltop, NJ, passed away peacefully in his home December 17, 2021, at the age of 80 years, Devoted husband of Sandra Humes (nee Cathcart) since 1963. Beloved father of David Humes (Shannon) and Cathy Humes. Proud grandfather of Miranda and Quincy. Dear brother of Carol Pettit (John); brother-in-law of Charles Cathcart (JoAnn). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Ethel Humes. George worked for many years as a forklift mechanic. He served as a Gloucester Township Councilman from 1982 to 1998. George was a founder of the Glendora Rescue Squad, serving six years as commander and earning the title of lifetime member. He is a longtime member of the Square Circle Gun Club. George and his wife Sandra moved to Florida in 2001, where he enjoyed the beautiful weather while riding his bike around the neighborhood every day. He was a friendly and generous person who was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbors and friends. He will be deeply missed. George’s urn visitation will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Earle Funeral Home, 122 W. Church St., Blackwood, NJ 08012.
