Barbara J. Ashton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara J. Ashton, (nee Read) At the age of 93, Barbara passed away peacefully surrounded by her family & loved ones. Barbara was a life-long resident of Blackwood NJ where she lived with her Husband of 57 years, Thompson W. Ashton, her 3 Children and her beloved dog, Maxwell. Barbara accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord & Savior at Gloucester County Community Church in 1988. Barbara will be joined by those who predeceased her, Husband, Thompson Ashton, Daughter, Diane Ashton-Caucci, & Grandson, Richard Ashton. Barbara lived life to the fullest. She loved her Children with all her heart. She had many passions. Politics was one of those passions. Barbara was a Gloucester Township Committee Woman for many years. She also served on the Gloucester Township Rent Control Board. Barbara is survived by: her children, Tom Ashton Jr, (daughter-in-law Rita) of Victoria VA, and Linda Palma (son-in-law Rick) of Margaret AL; her sister, Dawn Lobdell (brother-in-law Bob) of Franklinville, NJ; Grandchildren, Tommy Ashton, Scott Ashton (granddaughter-in-law Chrissy), Nicole Collins (grandson-in-law Jeff), Richard Palma III (granddaughter-in-law Jill), Robert Caucci (granddaughter-in-law Annie), Gabrielle McIntyre (grandson-in-law Dan); and 3 great-grandsons, Brody Palma, Matthew Collins, and Jake Collins. Urn visitation will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Earle Funeral Home, 122 W Church Street. Blackwood NJ, where a Christian service will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Erial Cemetery, Erial NJ.
