Brown (nee Ghegan), longtime resident of Deptford, NJ, passed away suddenly on April 1, 2022, at the age of 85 years. Devoted wife of the late Joseph L. Brown, who predeceased her in 2005 after forty-six years of marriage. Beloved mother of Scott D. Brown of Deptford, NJ and Daniel S. Brown of Deptford, NJ. Proud grandmother of Todd R. Brown (Barb) of Deptford, NJ, and George R. Brown (Emily) of Williamstown, NJ; great-grandmother of Aiden Joseph Brown and Addison Elizabeth Brown. Dear sister-in-law of Anne Ghegan of Henderson, NV. She was predeceased by her siblings, the late George Ghegan, and the late M. Marlene Harkins. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Alberta graduated from Woodbury High School in 1954. She and her husband Joe founded Acu-Pro Surveying and Engineering in 1972. She worked as the office manager there for thirty-five years before retiring in 2007. Alberta and Joe were well known for their elaborate Christmas light displays at their home on Cooper Street. She was an active member of the Almonesson United Methodist Church where she served as secretary, and throughout the years has held many other positions within the church. She loved her church and involved herself in any way she could, including singing in the choir and spending every Thursday working in the church thrift store. Alberta loved her family deeply and they meant absolutely everything to her. She will be greatly missed. Viewing will be Wednesday, April 13, 2022, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Almonesson United Methodist Church, 1680 Almonesson Road, Deptford, NJ 08096, where her funeral service will begin at 11:30 AM. Interment with her late husband at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Washington Twp., NJ, will immediately follow.
